3 Simple Ways To Make Your Home Smell Festive

Our sense of smell plays a massive part in our everyday lives, whether we realise it or not. Scents have the ability to change our mood, influence how we interact with others and even play a role in allowing us to recall memories. Maybe it’s the smell of home cooking, a flower or a perfume; certain scents can bring you right back to a memory, as if it happened just yesterday. There are so many seasonal scents that you can use in your home to make it smell amazing and create your own memories.

1. Scented candles and wax melts are a wonderful way to make your home look and smell inviting for the festive season. Having lit candles around your home will most definitely give it that hygge vibe and the warm glow will make rooms feel cosy and comfortable as the cold weather hits. Not only do candles look and feel homely, they also smell great and scents like Christmas Spice, Candy Cane, and Fireside are just some festive fragrance favourites that are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

2. Bringing the outdoors in is another way to make your home smell amazing for Christmas. Use fresh greenery such as a freshly cut Christmas fir tree, a fresh wreath or some branches from an aromatic evergreen. Some of the best smelling evergreen are the Scotch pine, Douglas fir, white spruce and Noble fir trees that will give your home a natural, earthly scent whilst giving you those winter wonderland feels.

3. Last, but not least, baking homemade treats keeps your home filled with sweet and savoury scents. Baking a Christmas cake, gingerbread or mince pies (with a dash of amaretto!) are a sure fire way to make your house smell festive and inviting and the best part, getting to eat them all afterwards of course! Yum!
